After months of hibernating, I have come out of my don't-wanna-blog-so-don't-make-me shell and I've created a new blog to celebrate my revival! The truth is, I actually couldn't remember my password to my last blog (SO FRUSTRATING!!!) and when I did the little trick where they send it to your e-mail, I realized they were sending it to my good old Dordt account. Which has long since died. So I had no choice but to create something new. Since my life may be taking me to some interesting places in the next few months, I am hoping that blogger will keep me in touch with friends and family. So here is what's new: I've lived in Chicago for a year now and have been working at Starbucks and teaching piano classes and theory to kids at Merit School of Music in the city--a fabulous music school for kids of low income, all ethnicities, and from all parts of the city. All of my classrooms and very diverse and it turns out that I really like teaching! Which is why I'm most likely moving to South Korea in August to be an English teacher for a year. Or maybe longer. Who knows! I'm just starting to get some job potentials now, so we'll see where I end up. Hence why I will need a good way to stay in contact with everyone back home.
One of my biggest reasons to start blogging again is b/c I now have a digital camera and post pictures. Before when I blogged, I always had picture-envy of everyone else's blogs, which created very strained bitterness. So perhaps with each picture I post, my picture-envy bitterness will ease and I will regain my self-respect as well as the learn to love all those who have been posting pictures for years while I sat without a camera. My first pictures will be from the triathlon I did last weekend. It was my first one, and I loved it! It was at a beautiful campground in Wisconsin and I had a finishing time of 1 hour and 33 minutes, which I was very proud of for my first one--especially since my chain broke on my bike and it took awhile to fix it! I got third place in the women's 20-24 division. (But for all I know, there may have only been 3 women in that division to begin with.) Kristin, Grant, Tricia, and Jen made a great fan club as they waved my enlarged face with my hot pink hair around on sticks.
